Dwarf Bearded Dragon is also commonly called Rankin's Dragon, Lawson's Dragon, Dumpy Dragon, Pygmy Dragon or Black Soil Bearded Dragon. It is a species of small agamid lizard, which is native to (mostly inland) Queensland in Australia. It is similar to the larger central bearded dragon (P. vitticeps), but is usually less than 30 cm (12 in) in total length (including tail). Its natural environment is hot, dry and rocky, In the wild they are opportunistic hunters, eating many of the live insects, worms and vegetation they encounter. While young they will make use of their claws to scale trees and rocks to catch their prey, but once adult they will rely more on the vegetation that grows at ground level.
