A 2019 view of the Beach, Sea front and promenade at Benidorm, on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Benidorm is a seaside resort on the eastern coast of Spain in Europe, part of the Valencia region’s famed Costa Blanca. Once a tiny fishing village till the 1960s, it is now a Mediterranean holiday destination known for its nightlife, palm lined promenades, bars and rows of skyscrapers. Benidorm has been a tourist destination within Spain since 1925, when its port was extended and the first hotels were built, though it would not be until the 1950s that it became renowned as a summer destination for people coming from inland Spain, especially from Madrid.
